Hello ladies and gents. K am so sorry that I have been gone for awhile but I have been so caught up with couponing that I forgot about everything else lol. So I have done 4 shopping trips so far and let me make clear that these were small trips, under $100. I have so far got a pretty good stockpile of detergent, dish soap, pantyliners, bodywash, etc. Now I am working on stockpiling my cold and flu meds. Since that time of year is upon us. I must say when I first thought about getting into couponing seriously and saw all the work that had to go into it I was like "How am I going to ever learn all this stuff"? However, almost 6 months later here I am with about $400 worth of products that I got for around $60 or $70 building a stockpile. Some of the sites I use to help me price match and all that are listed on the side of my blog. Of course there are MANY blogs, sites to choose from and so many in fact that I got overwhelmed at first. After my own research I have found these sites to work the best for ME and think maybe they might work for you all as well.
When first starting out into the coupon world, and yes I say world cause as you get deeper into it you will find out that we do have our own world indeed where coupons are like money, stamps, codes for movie rentals, Pampers, Huggies and Coke codes all are as good as money to us. The best advice I can give you is to read, read, read and read some more. A lot of people when first starting out think "How hard can it be it's coupons" and your right it's not hard once you learn how to do it correctly. For example a lot of the fine print on coupons such as "1 per transaction" or "1 coupon per purchase" does not mean that you can only use 1 coupon and that's it. 1 per transaction means that you can use 1 coupon for that item per transaction. So say you have 10 coupons that state 1 per transaction for Dawn dish soap (my favorite item to stock) well, you can use all 10 coupons BUT, and here is the tricky part you will have to do 10 transactions to be able to use all 10 coupons. Now the coupon that states 1 per purchase means that if you have 10 coupons for Dawn dish soap you can use all 10 coupons but you MUST buy 10 dish soaps. With this scenerio you can purchase all 10 dish soaps in 1 transaction. See how just that little difference in wording makes a huge difference at checkout? Lately however, because of all the shelf clearers (something REAL couponers like myself frown on) coupons will say "Use only 4 like coupons per transaction per shopping trip" which means you can ONLY use 4 of the same exact coupon in that shopping trip. For couponers like me this is a good thing because it somewhat gives us all a chance to get in on the deals rather than having 1 or 2 people take advantage and leave nothing for the rest of us. Although coupons have this stipulation people still found a way around it and go to different stores and accumulate different store cards.
This is just 1 lesson of many that you can learn on sites such as We Use Coupons and A Full Cup 2 of my favorite sites. We Use Coupons even has video of everything about couponing from how to organize coupons to where to donate expired coupons. A Full Cup has information on coupons broken down into states as well as regions. When becoming a serious couponer sites like these will be benefical to you in helping you find the best deals and when, where and how to get them. Well, hello again everyone. It's Alicia here once again to tell you about a new venture I am trying out called "Extreme Couponing". Some of you may have seen the show on TLC where everyday people like you and me clip coupons and save huge amounts of money. At least 50-60% on things like grocery's, hygenes, household, etc. When I first saw the show I was like "Wow I wish I could learn how to do that". Well, it turns out that the men/women featured on the show have websites were they teach you FOR FREE how to do extreme couponing. I had found out about the sites through a friend of mine. I could not believe that they were actually teaching people how to do this for FREE. The reason I keep stressing the FREE thing is because in todays world people are doing whatever they can to make money and so the fact that these ladies and gents decided agaisnt that speaks volumes to me personally.
Now couponing in and of itself is not difficult to do but learning store policy's and what you can and can't do is another story. On the site that I have been using We Use Coupons they teach you step by step both in literature and video's on how to do all this stuff. They also teach you the tricks of getting around the coupon lingo LEGALLY. I have seen some sites that teach you how to cheat the store and when your getting items at a 70-80% discount or free why then would you need to cheat the store? I just recently got into this simply because I have a family of 4 and am not working so I thought while I am job hunting why not take that extra time to save money. I am a complete novice at the whole thing so please if you have any questions please refer to the link I posted or go to www.weusecoupons.com Some things are still a little confusing because although a store might be a chain for example Safeway, they are all different in ther policy's and vary from state to state city to city. So I am learning my area stores policy's. It does take time to start this venture but I promise you it WILL pay off when you are buying $100 worth of grocery's and paying $2.00 for it.

So i went shopping in Walgreens yesterday for some meds. For my son and of course me being a women i just had to run by the makeup. To my surprise I found Wet n' Wild products had gotten a major revamp. It use to be that the brand was sunonmous with being really poor quality and not a lot of products to choose from. Well, throw that idea out the door because they are a lot better than they use to be and the quality of the makeup is great! They have so many more products to choose from and are now using a lot of natural ingrediants. I am a total eyeshadow junkie and Wet n' Wild did not disappoint. They have fabulous colors that i've only seen in the Mac makeup line and even they don't have the colors Wet n' Wild has. The best part is of course the quality. I purchased a 3 shadow compact and hurried home to try it on and it was beautiful. The colors can be blended easily and you can go from sheer to dramatic by just building the color. It cost me just 2.99 for a 3 shadow compact. They do carry the singles for 1.75. I want to go back and purchase the 12 shadow compact. They have beautiful colors and it's only 4.99. I live in California so prices may differ elsewhere. Since i give advice on everything i had to let my ladies kno to quit spending 16$ for a single eyeshadow pot and go buy Wet n' Wild. The mascara is great also. Makes my lashes long and full without clumping or shedding. Haven't used anything else yet since i have a new baby and money is tight right now even at those great prices. I do plan to try out the lash serum they offer as well as the blush and lip gloss. I'm not much of a lip stick lady because i have extremly small lips. So stay tuned for my rating on those items. I would not steer you wrong ladies so if you want great eyeshadow that is very affordable and comes in beautiful colors try Wet n' Wild. I do not make any money or anything from any of the items i tell you about. I simply love makeup and kno a lot about it so I use my expertise to help other ladies out on what i think is good or not. If you do happen to try Wet n' Wild let me kno what you think especially if you tried products that i haven't yet been able to try.

Well, today has not started out very good for me. My newborn was up most of the night being fussy and I have no clue why. That is one of the bad parts of being a parent because at this age he cannot tell me what's wrong so it's ia lot of trial and error. He finally got to sleep now in his swing but that was the only way he would fall asleep. I love my babies so much and I love being a mom but your patience certinly gets tested when you have kids. That being said it's important to get help and ask for it when you can so that you may take some much needed time for YOURSELF. I also get a lot of other things done while he is asleep or distrated. i had almost forgotten that i had this blog until i started researching my old things online. anyway i still plan on giving advice about makeup however, i just had a brand new baby boy that is less than two moths old so most of my advice or blogs will be about the family aspect. that being said it is very true what they say about every pregnancy being different because mine was totally different from the first baby i had. with this pregnancy i had to have a c-section and it hurts. For some reason I had the stupid idea that it would be better than giving birth. Unlike my daughter (first pregnancy) my son would have a hard time with formula since I could not breastfeed. I had to change his formula 2 times before I finally had to switch back to ready-made formula that they used in the hospital. By the way anyone who has kids know's that ready-made is extremly expensive. He finally was good with the formula switch but then got messed up again when I tried to switch him to some expensive bottles. He is just the type of kid not good with change. He is now almost 7wks old and seems to be on a schedule but it felt like it took forever to get to that point. You see my daughter is almost 9yrs old, on AUG 21, and so my children are just about 19yrs apart. I had forgotten how hard and demanding it is to have a newborn. It felt like for the first couple of weeks I couldn't sit down, sleep or pay attention to anything else but him. I am now a little more at ease with him being around but I still get anxious. Thank god I have my husband and daughter to help me out. With all that being said he is a complete joy to have and I could never imagine life without him. He just recently started smiling and cooing. It's so cute. Thus far my best advice would be to pay close attention to your baby or children in general that way you can tell quickly if something is wrong or just not quit right. Also be patient and if you ever feel overwhelmed get some help and take some time for yourself. I had a hard time with that at first until I realized that if I didn't ask for help I could become overwhelmed or depressed and take it out on the baby or someone else. Remember to enjoy your baby and the time you have because it ends fast.

Great new eyeliner

Hey all! I have been doing some serious makeup shopping these past few weeks and I have to say that it was sooo much fun. Of course any girl with a pulse would know that. To get to my point my one desert island product is this product called JetSet gel eyeliner from Smashbox. I use eyeliner a lot and I have really oily skin. I saw this product on QVC a few times and thought that eyeliner could not be that good. You know how us girls get sold on these ideas that makeup is water proof and all that jazz but they never really are. Well, this product made all the same claims that it would be water proof and it stays until you take it off.

As you probably have already guessed I did end up buying the product. I decided to try it because of course of all the claims it was making and because it looked like it applied so easily to the models on TV. I bought it off of QVC for $25 because it was a sale price usually it's like $30. It also included the brush that you needed. When it came to me at the front door I was in my pj's still but I knew it was the eyeliner so I decided to take it into the bathroom and just put some on before I took a shower and got dressed.

The first thing I noticed was how easily it swept on my eyelid with no tugging or pulling. The second thing I noticed was that it made a perfect line right at the base of my eyelash with my first quick stroke. It went on so easily and nice that I decided to put it on the other eye lid and sure enough it went on the same way. By the way the brush really makes a big difference. After admiring myself in the mirror with my new eyeliner I went back into the livingroom to watch some TV before I started my day. After about 3 1/2hrs I got into the shower. When I got out I went to the sink to do my daily facial routine and saw that I still had my eyeliner on. The third thing that I noticed by this time was that the eyeliner had first of all kept in place without smudging and that it stayed it's true black matte color. You know when you use a liquid eyeliner that after it sets the color looks like a shiny black eyeliner rather than the true black matte that it's suppose to be. I always hated that. Anyway when I went to wash it off it came right off. I didn't have to get a eye makeup remover or rub the heck out of my eye.

I know that the price may sound a bit much but once you try this eyeliner you will see what a value it truly is. The little pot of eyeliner will last you for at least a good 6 months if not more. So ladies if you are like me and like a true matte eyeliner that stays put all day, even through the humidity of a shower then you need to try this eyeliner. I suggest you buy it on QVC because if for some reason you don't like the product you can turn it in and get your money back so there's no risk. FYI: this can be used to line the inner rim of your eyes too. This is where I use it most and it stays put there too. Take care ladies/gentlemen until my next beauty escapde have a great day!

Hello all! I have been away for awhile, but now I am back and ready to give you all new tips for beauty, fashion and more. I am now selling Avon so anyone wishing to purchase from me should follow the link in this blog. Just to give you all a taste of the tips to come here are some.

If you want to get that beautiful flushed look on your cheeks, but don't want to spend the money then use lipstick. Remember a little bit goes a long way. Try to use a sheer pink color or a sheer red. You don't want to use any lipsticks that are too matte because that will only make your face look like a clown.

As you may know all the rage in Hollywood right now is the highlighter. Although this product works tremedously well it can cost a pretty penny. Here is what I do when I run out. I use a pearlescent white eyeshadow or a pearlescent pink. Just use a big powder brush and sweep wherever you would like to highlight. Also when you want cream eyeshadow to have staying power always use an eyeshadow base. This works really well and I recommend it not only for cream shadow but for any eyeshadow. Your lids always have a little darker pigment on them and what the eyeshadow base does it make your lid one light color so that whatever the color or your eyeshadow it will be the true color. Hello all! I know it has been awhile since I have posted, but a lot has been happening with me and my family. Anyway it's all good now so I will be on here posting at least once a day if not more. I have found some new topics to post about on here when I was gone and here is one of them. What do you do about wearing makeup in this hot, humid whether during the summer when you have oily skin? This is the problem I have had for lord know's how long and I think I have finally found a way to help people with this problem.
First of all you would want to start by washing your face with a nice oil free cleanser. I use Swiss Miss Olive Oil Cleanser. The next step would be not to moisturize during the day time. Only use your moisturizer during the night, unless you have really dry skin or spotted dry skin. In that case use an oil free moisturizer, but not around the nose or eye area. Notice that I am suggesting using oil free products. This is a big help when it comes to makeup coming off an hour after you put it on. The next thing you would want to do is use a primer. Some makeup artists say no primer and some say you can't use foundation without it I say use it. The key is to use a good primer. Of course a higher price tag doesn't always mean better product so I would suggest DHC Velvet Skin Coat Primer at www.dhccare.com It is about $20 for a tube of the product, however you only need a very small amount so the tube should last at least a couple months if not longer. I use this primer and let me tell you it works great! I never use to use primer because I thought it wouldn't make a difference and boy was I wrong. You will have to try it to believe it. The next step would be to use a good oil free foundation. I like the new foundation by Revlon called Custom Creations. It's available at all drugstores. Not only is it a great foundation, but you also get the chance to customize your color and since our color changes from season to season you really get your money's worth with this product. The next step would be to spot conceal. Of course use an oil free concealer. I like to use L'oreal oil free concealer because it covers well and doesn't get that cakey look to it through out the day. The last step would be to use a good finishing powder. I would suggest using a mineral powder like Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil or something like that. The fact that it is light but still gives the look of smaller pores will only help your foundation and concealer. Also it is lighter than a regular pressed powder and for the older ladies you can use this lighter powder under the eye area.
All these tips and tricks that I am passing on to you really work because I use them and it works for me. I know that this may not work for everyone but feel free to change things up to better suit your needs or use products that you may already have and like but just incorporate these ideas and products. Whatever works for you the individual. Please let me know any new ideas or products that work for you so that I may pass them on to other people. We women have to stick together in the world but this is especially so when it comes to makeup and looking better. Let me know how this works for you if you do decide to try my tips. New hair product!

Hello all! I have a great new hair product that I think you should try. I have heard of Chaz Dean's Wen products on QVC, but I have never purchased them because I always had no money. Anyway when I got a little extra money this week I got a set of his product and let me tell you I was blowen away. This hair product is nothing like a hair shampoo at all. It feels more like a conditioner. I got the hair conditioner with the tea tree in it because sometimes I have build up from styling products. Anyway I was so excited when I recieved it that I used it that same day. Like I said it feels like a conditioner. I used 30 pumps of the product because I have longer hair, but just follow the directions for your hair type and length. Anyway you leave it in for the duration of your shower and then rinse. When I get out a put 1 pump into my hair when it's wet as a leave-in treatment and then let my hair air dry. When my hair dried it felt so nice. It was shiny and soft not to mention that it smelled really good. I am now a self proclaimed addict of the product and can't live without it. Buy yourself some of this product and you will see the difference that it can make in your hair. I will use nothing else. He also has some styling products that I haven't tried yet, but I am definately going to now that I know how great the conditioner works. Let me know what you all think of my product recommendation. I would be confident in saying this is one of my all time beauty picks of the last decade.

Today I was going to be leaving some tips on here about hair, however I decided to leave some tips and comments on relationships instead. My husband and I got into this really big fight a few days ago because he was suppose to be going to work, but instead ended up in a public park and getting locked in it for the night along with about 20 other guys ( it was a get-together). I had just came home from work around 5pm that evening and to my surprise my husband was still not home. My mother had been down for the week and she was home with my daughter. I asked my mom if my husband had called or came by and she said no. Thinking nothing was the matter I perceeded to cook dinner, take my baby and I a shower and go to sleep. My mom comes into my bedroom the next morning (7am) saying did J come home last night. Since I was still half asleep I told her yes he did. When I finally woke up all the way I reliezed that J had in fact not come home all night. I got up and called his cell phone and to my surprise, once again, no one answered the phone. Now I was thinking OMG what if something happened to him maybe he's in jail. ( It has happened before) So I called his mother and she said she hadn't heard from him in a couple days. It was now 11am in the morning and look who comes rolling in the house as if nothing happened, J. By this time I was on my way to my cousin's funeral and almost out the door when he said I know babe I am sorry you'll never guess what happened to me last night. Of course after the morning I had just had I didn't care and so I left. He went to the funeral with his family and I went with mine. I was so upset with him that I didn't even stand by him the whole time. After the funeral I went home and he went to the park where they ate. Since I was so upset by this time I decided I was going to kick him out and so I did. The only thing was he didn't know about it since he wasn't there. He's brother called to talk to J and I told his brother that J wasn't allowed home anymore. J comes home at around 2:30am that morning after a long day and night of drinking heavily and eating and says how come you kicked me out what did I do? Well, that just did it there so we got into a big arguement, he left and I cried.

The moral of this story both ladies and gentlemen is that men/women cannot stay out all night, no matter what the situation is, and pretend like nothings wrong when you come home. It just doesn't work that way. Second of all have you ever heard of a phone? (J said he's phone died and he couldn't get out of the park) If that is the case you need to find some way of letting your lady/man know that you are ok. What if something really happened and since you always do that sort of thing we never bothered to look for you and you were hurt or killed. This is the way we think it's not like we always think your cheating or something. (even though you may very well be) Third of all when you come home don't pretend like nothing's wrong, especially if you have been gone all NIGHT! That is a definate way to get under your girls/man's skin and make her/him furious. People, when you get into a situation like, and you will, don't freak out! That will only make it worse for you and you may over react the way that I did and do something rash. The best way to handle this kind of situation or something related to it is like this:

Men do try and let your women know what you are doing when you are not with her or vice versa. That doesn't mean that every hour on the hour you need to call, but when something changes it's a good idea. For example I thought that J was working so that is why I reacted the way that I did. If he would have called me earlier that day and said the job got cancelled I am going to hang out with my boys at the park then I would have known where he was and possibly saved the heartache for both of us. So men when you say that you are going to do something and it changes call your lady and let them know this so that she doesn't trip out if something happens. If it is too much trouble to let your women know when plans change then maybe you shouldn't be together in the first place. The same goes for women too. Don't think this all falls on the men we do have our bad traits as well.

Men when something comes up and there is no way to contact your lady or anyone please don't come home acting like nothing happened. It's like you guys think maybe if I don't say anything she won't remember and that's not only stupid it's but pitiful too. Of couse we are going to remember you being gone all night with no call or explaination. The best way to deal with this is to say look babe or honey (whatever you call your significant other) I know I was wrong and I am sorry but this is what happened. Then maybe we will be more inclined to listen. I am not saying for sure I am saying maybe. Remember every women is different.

After all is said and done no matter what the case if you two love eachother nothing so stupid would really split you up unless there is other things wrong with the relationship in which case you need to consult a professional. Which I am not, lol. I am just giving you my take on the relationship thing.

Make sure both of you make a lot of time for eachother no matter how long you have been together. A relationship suffers a lot when people are together for more than a couple of years. You need to work harder at it to make it exciting and new. Of couse the least but NOT last thing is to make sure you have an active sex life. When you have been married/together for more than a couple years come on there is only so many ways to do it. That's when you try new things for eachother and be spontanous. There is nothing better than having sex in the shower if you've never done that before or having sex on the table. Things like that will make you and your significant other very happy. You both have to be in to it and be willing to try new things otherwise things will eventually start to fizzle.

I hope this helps someone out there to learn a little bit about women and why we do the things we do sometimes. Remember love makes us do crazy things. By the way my husband and I have reconciled and we are happily enjoying eachother. I just wish I would have changed some of my actions and maybe spared myself, my daughter and my husband a couple days of hell. Believe me he went through it too. He know's now what he did was wrong and now he know's how he should deal with it if something like that should ever happen again. I would like to say it will never happen again but a girl can only hope. Take care of yourself and loved ones.

Hello everyone! Well, I was going to have some beauty tips on hair and makeup today but I am feeling really sad. My cousin was shot and murdered in Yuba City, CA last Friday and so I have not been feeling well. I am going to his funeral on Friday the 18. I just think it is so senseless for people to take out a gun and shot you when they don't even know you or you had an argument with them. It's like if people can make you that mad all the time you should be in a mental institution. The cops said he was shot over an argument. Anyways after the funeral is over I will continue to leave my tips as always. I hope you all have a better week and weekend. Until next time take care and god bless!

Today were I live (Ca) it has been really hot (102) and when it's hot it makes your hands and hair look terrible. When I know it's going to be a hot day I start in the shower, of course.

I use a silicone based shampoo ( Keratase Bain Oleo) available on keratase.com, for my hair because it is curly and my problem is frizz. When I wash my hair I don't scrub the scalp I just message it scrubbing strips the natural oils away. I do scrub the ends of my hair but not hard. Then I use Pantene Pro-V hydrating curls conditioner (available at drugstores) and leave in my hair for at least 5 min. When I rinse out the conditioner I don't rinse it all out I leave in a little bit to act like a leave-in and that helps with frizz and shine.
To style my hair I gently towel dry. This is important! You don't want to rub hair dry because this will only add to the frizz. Or you can do what I have suggested in my other blog and that is don't towel dry at all leave hair wet and gently sqeeze out the excess. Then I use 3 parts anti-frizz cream and 1 part serum and gently distribute through hair. If you have longer than shoulder length hair you may want to use a second palm full of this mix. The products that I use for my hair is Garnier Fructis weightless frizz serum (available in drugstores) and Suave texturizing cream (available in drugstores). If it is really going to be humid and hot then I use 1 part leave-in conditioner, 1 part medium hold gel and serum instead of the cream and serum. For this I use Pantene Pro-V leave-in treatment (available at drugstores) and Paul Mitchell super sculpt (available at paulmitchell.com).
If at any time you need an emergency quick fix then try this. Use a small amount of hand cream warmed between palms and rub through dry hair. This will help to tame those frizzies until you can get home for some real R&R.
Be sure to use a hot oil treatment at least once a week. (Alberto VO-5 hot oil treatment available at drugstores)
When I have dry flaked looking hands I do these things to keep them looking smooth, soft and young. First I clean all polish off of my hands and wash with a good anti-bacterial soap. Then I clip and file my nails down to the size I want. After that I use a Sally Hansens Message Cream (available at drugstores) and push back my cuticles. SuperNail cuticle oil (available at Longs Drugs) is the next step. I put the oil all over my cuticles and leave it. Then I grab a clean warm cloth and wipe both of my hands with it. I polish nails and put on a top coat and rub in Sally Hansens 12-hour hand cream. Nails and hands look good as new and they stay that way for a couple days before you have to touch up polish.
If you have dry, brittle, hard to grow nails I would suggest using Nailtiques nail protein #1(available at Longs Drugs or on nailtiques.com) I use to have hard, dry, brittle nails and to top it off I was a nail bitter. Nailtiques helped me to grow nails that are beautiful, strong and chip proof. A good trick for nail bitters is to paint your nails a bright color no matter how short they are. For some reason when you paint your nails a bright color and you go to bite them the color jumps out at you and then you don't want to bite your nails.

Well, today is such a nice day where I am ( California) but it is hard on your skin, hair and other things when it is nice and sunny. Here are a few things that I have found to help me when I am in need of some new beauty tips.

Wear summer colors. That means bright, bold colors. This will really make your skin color pop. This also helps to lift your mood.
Try new makeup products like the shimmer cubes by Body Shop Spring $17.50 for your eyes. They are nice colors and they have a subtle shimmer not like you have glitter on your eyes.
Another favorite of mine is Essie polish in Bermuda Shorts $8. It is a nice purple pink color.
When I wake up from that crazy after party from the night before I like to use Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew eye roller $12.99. This helps to combat that puffiness and gives me a soothing cool feeling. For an extra treat stick it in the fridge.
To make hair really shiny I blow dry when my hair is soaking wet out of the shower. ( Do not towel dry) It may take longer, but the shine is well worth it plus you don't have so much frizz.
When I have a too much blush I use 1 part moisturizer and 1 part foundation, mix together and blend out with a brush.
When I want budge proof foundation I use Almay TLC Truly Lasting Color Makeup $12.49. This makeup has a 16 hour lasting effect through humidity, swimming, and perspiration.
To keep my skin tone all the same color I use Clinique Tone Corrector $39.50. I use this at night after washing my face and before moisturizing.
For people like me who are prone to acne change your pillow case once a week. In the summer since it is humid and hot I change mine every two days.
When I need my skin to look perfect in a flash I use Dr. Denese Firming Facial Peel $33.25. This peel has helped to uncover soft supple skin and improve acne scarring, pore size and the overall texture and tone of my skin.
If you want your foundation to be a little more sheer try mixing it with a little bit of moisturizer.
After your shower apply lotion while skin is still damp to lock in the moisture and last longer.
Of course the biggest tip I can give you is drink lots and lots of water. Since it is hot and humid during the summer months it makes sense to drink more water during that time.
